Mission
The seeds of SmartKnowledgeU™ were planted with a simple bet. From that seed, over the next five years, I planted the roots of SmartKnowledgeU™. From those roots, sprouted a free investment newsletter that I distributed as a “public service” to friends that constantly asked me for investment advice. Within months, that simple newsletter grew into a distribution list of more than 300 people, and continues to grow every week. From our many roots finally sprouted our branches, the online campus that became SmartKnowledgeU™. And through this evolution, we find ourselves here today.
Our mission at SmartKnowledgeU™ is to provide unconventional, non-traditional education and investment strategies for both adults and young adults, inexperienced and experienced alike, regarding
(1) how to build wealth;
(2) how to intelligently invest in the global stock markets; and
(3) how to consistently identify the best (and often ignored) investment opportunities in the world.
By providing the knowledge above, we believe that we can help people achieve financial freedom and allow them to identify the safest places to invest money. We are committed not only to teaching people how to build wealth, but also towards empowering poor, disenfranchised, and "downpressed" communities. To this goal we will pledge a minimum of 10% of all profits from our online university.
At SmartKnowledgeU™, we demolish many of the myths that continue to be paraded as truth by large, corporate investment firms today. Many of the theories pushed by investment firms regarding the safest places to invest money actually are very risky within the risk-reward paradigm. Because they are asset-gathering sales strategies, the probabilities of ever achieving more than mediocre returns with them are very low. We have developed resources that expose these widely propagated myths and we give the average investor the insight and tools to build wealth on his or her own.
In addition to our resources for adults, we have also created some fun, creative educational resources for young adults. Why? In the past five years, I've heard many of my friends comment that they wish they had known about the contents of the best-selling book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" ten years earlier.
Why didn't they know about the simple but highly useful advice in this book?
The truth is, high school, college, and even graduate level curriculums are rooted much too heavily in theory rather than practical application. Instead of classes in budgeting, entrepreneurship, and investing, high schools, colleges, and graduate schools offer classes in economics and marketing. One will learn more about the effectiveness of real-life marketing in one month by starting a company than by spending four years sitting in a marketing class. Quite simply, formal education does not provide any of the skills that kids and young adults really need to build wealth and achieve financial freedom during their adult years. To understand this completely, please download our free e-book available on our home page, “Build Wealth, Not Dreams”. For this reason, we have developed fun, invaluable guides to investing for young adults that will give them the necessary tools to build wealth from an early age as well as provide advice to ensure that they do not become overburdened with debt.
We further hope to encourage those that would not have built wealth but for our strategies to also give back to the global community as well. As we grow as a company, we will provide information about our current projects online.
Yours Truly,
J.S. Kim
